Leicester Music Conference

The Leicester Music Conference (LMC) is a growing annual event led by HQ CAN, TiME (Technology in Music Education UK) and the Leicester Music Board. It brings together artists, industry professionals, educators and young people to connect, collaborate and shape the future of music and the wider creative industries.

Launched in 2024, the conference is now in its third year and continues to expand its reach and ambition, positioning Leicester as a hub for music, creativity and talent development.

Across two days, LMC presents a programme of panels, workshops, performances and live showcases that bridge education and industry, offering insight, exchange and practical knowledge at every level. Recent speakers and contributors have included Myn Jazeel, Chris Cooke, Phil Nelson, Denise Amory Reid and Gary Reid. The live showcase programme has featured high-profile artists including Professor Green, Roni Size and Zdot, alongside emerging talent from the region, including HQ Familia and other local artists.

A central part of the conference is the Creative Industries Expo, a free-to-attend exhibition showcasing music technology, education providers, creative organisations and support services. The Expo creates space for hands-on discovery, direct engagement with industry, and meaningful conversations around careers, skills, innovation and progression.

With a strong focus on inclusion, skills development and industry connection, LMC supports talent at all stages while strengthening links across Leicester’s music and creative sector.
